Gem Rigsby is an author and artist known for her beautiful illustrations and inspiring stories.

She is also a respected herbalist and master gardener.

Gem’s first book, Herb Seed for Thought, is a collection of uplifting devotionals blending spiritual contemplation with garden lore.

This book debuted in Washington’s National Cathedral—designated by Congress as “A House of Prayer for All People”—during Easter week 1999. Her on-site residency at the Cathedral concluded with a public reading from this book. Gem's second book is the newly-released

There is a Little Toe, a charming bilingual read-aloud for toddlers. 

Both of Gem’s books are infused with her joyous love of life and family and her profound faith in God. Today she lives, paints, writes, and gardens in Houston, Texas. Gem has four children, nine grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
